The Thirteenth Session

The Council of Representatives holds its thirteenth session of the second legislative term of the first legislative year of the sixth electoral cycle, chaired by Mr. Haibat Al-Halbousi, Speaker of the Council, today, Wednesday 26/8/2026, with (218) members present. The session included

- First reading of the draft First Amendment Law to the Iraqi Supreme Maritime Authority Law No. (18) of 2019, submitted by the Committee of Transport, Communications and Governance.

- First reading of the draft Mineral Investment Law, submitted by the Committees of Investment and Development, Economy, Industry and Trade, and Finance.

- First reading of the draft Islamic Investment Sukuk Law, submitted by the Finance Committee and the Committee of Investment and Development.

- First reading of the draft Law on the Accession of the Republic of Iraq to the Arab Customs Cooperation Agreement, submitted by the Foreign Relations Committee.

- First reading of the draft Law on the Ratification by the Republic of Iraq of the Agreement on the Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments between the Governments of the Republic of Iraq and the Republic of Türkiye, submitted by the Foreign Relations Committee.
