The Twenty-First Session

The Council of Representatives held its twenty-first session of the first legislative term of the first legislative year of the sixth electoral cycle, chaired by Speaker Haibat Al-Halbousi, on Thursday, 23/4/2026. The session included:

_ The Council extended its legislative term by one month to complete its constitutional, legislative and oversight duties.

_ First reading of the proposed Juvenile Welfare Law, submitted by the Human Rights and Women, the Migration, Displaced Persons and Community Reconciliation, and the Legal Affairs committees.

_ First reading of the proposed First Amendment Law to the Law on the Protection of Teachers, Instructors, Supervisors and Educational Counselors No. 18 of 2018, submitted by the Education and Legal Affairs committees.
