Session Report

The Council of Representatives held on (9/2/2026) its seventh session of the first legislative term of the first legislative year of the sixth electoral cycle, chaired by Speaker Haibat Al-Halbousi, with (216) MPs in attendance. The session included:

_ The Speaker affirmed that the Council of Representatives will continue following up on the measures resulting from hosting the head of the border crossings authority and the directors of customs and taxation, and addressing the Prime Minister's Office in this regard, adding that the Council awaits the recommendations submitted by the government for its consideration.

_ The taking of the constitutional oath by Messrs. Hasanain Al-Khafaji, Jaafar Shuail Al-Zamili and Ali Anhair to assume membership of the Council of Representatives.

_ Voting on forming a temporary parliamentary committee chaired by the First Deputy Speaker to begin amending the bylaws concerning the permanent committees.
