Session Report
The Council of Representatives held on (6/5/2026) its twenty-third session of the first legislative term of the first legislative year of the sixth electoral cycle, chaired by Speaker Haibat Al-Halbousi. The session included:
_ Mr. Haibat Al-Halbousi stated that the Council of Representatives will receive, today or tomorrow (Thursday), the government program submitted by Prime Minister-designate Ali Al-Zaidi, to be distributed to the members for study and review.
_ The Speaker directed the parliamentary Legal Affairs Committee to state its legal opinion regarding the head and members of the Federal Service Council performing their duties before taking the constitutional oath before the Council of Representatives.
_ First reading of the proposed Mental Health Law, submitted by the Health and Combating Psychotropic Substances Committee.
