The Council of Representatives held on (23/4/2026) its twenty-first session of the first legislative term of the first legislative year of the sixth electoral cycle, chaired by Speaker Haibat Al-Halbousi. The session included:

_ Mr. Haibat Al-Halbousi reiterated the Council's emphasis on the importance of the largest parliamentary bloc adhering to the constitutional deadline and expediting the naming of the Prime Minister-designate and sending it to the President of the Republic, demanding that the designate send his government program to the Council of Representatives for study by its members.

_ The Council extended its legislative term by one month to complete its constitutional, legislative and oversight duties.

_ First reading of the proposed Juvenile Welfare Law, submitted by the Human Rights and Women, the Migration, Displaced Persons and Community Reconciliation, and the Legal Affairs committees.

_ First reading of the proposed First Amendment Law to the Law on the Protection of Teachers, Instructors, Supervisors and Educational Counselors No. 18 of 2018, submitted by the Education and Legal Affairs committees.
