Session (15) First Term / First Year

The Council of Representatives held on (6/4/2026) its fifteenth session of the first legislative term of the first legislative year of the sixth electoral cycle, chaired by Speaker Haibat Al-Halbousi. The session included:

_ The Speaker affirmed that the session for electing the President of the Republic will proceed on schedule, noting that the names of MPs absent from that session would be announced in due course.

_ Voting on the Agriculture, Water Resources, Marshlands and Environment Committee, comprising Ihsan Taaban, Abdulhadi Al-Hasnawi, Faleh Al-Khazali, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, Bariz Ismail, Ahlam Ramadan and Azhar Hamid Al-Sadran.

_ Voting to correct the name of the Health Committee to the Health and Combating Psychotropic Substances Committee.

_ Voting on the Electricity and Energy Committee, comprising Rahima Hassan, Abdulmunim Faris, Hassan Wariush Mohammed Al-Asadi, Saad Shakir Aziz, Zahraa Luqman, Riyadh Adnan Abboud, Wafaa Hussein Salman, Ahmed Rashid Al-Salmani, Falah Saeed Jarmat, Walid Khalid Al-Darraji, Hind Al-Abbasi, Noor Al-Juhaishi, Halat Salman and Halo Qadir.

_ Voting on the Martyrs, Victims and Political Prisoners Committee, comprising Hussein Al-Battat, Ahmed Al-Mousawi, Habib Al-Hallawi, Kawa Miro Khalid and Brako Sherko Fatih.

_ Voting on the transfer of MP Ahmed Mudhhir Al-Jubouri to the Committee of Regions and Governorates Not Incorporated into a Region, MP Samia Al-Ghallab to the Education Committee, and Khadija Wadi to the Electricity and Energy Committee.

_ Voting to recommend that the government do justice to the families of the victims and martyrs of the security forces of all branches and of civilians in all governorates, and compensate them through the allocation of plots of land and financial allocations.
