On (7/2/2023), the House of Representatives held its fourth session of the first legislative term of the second legislative year of the fifth electoral cycle under the chairmanship of Muhammad Al-Halbousi, in the presence of (224) representatives, and the session included:
-The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohammed Al-Halbousi, pointed out that the issue of interpellant governors is the prerogative of the elected provincial councils, and that the Federal Court dropped the article on the interrogation of governors from the law of the House of Representatives and its formations.
-The Vice-Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Shakhwan Abdullah, read a statement on behalf of the House of Representatives, in which he offered condolences to the Syrian and Turkish peoples, calling for opening the borders, receiving the wounded and providing the necessary assistance, wishing a speedy recovery to the wounded and mercy and immortality to the victims.
- Vote by absolute majority on the dismissal of Diwaniyah Governor Zuhair Ali.
-First reading of the law on the first amendment to the Residence of Foreigners Law No. (76) of 2017, submitted by the Legal, Security, Defense, Immigration and Displacement Committees.
-First reading to the amendment law draft Order No. (15) of 2004 regarding the ownership of residential lands for employees of the Middle Refineries Company. submitted by the Gas and Natural Resources Committee.

- First reading of the draft law of the Media and Communications Authority, submitted by the committees of transport, communications, services, reconstruction, culture, tourism and antiquities.
