 On (13/1/2025), the House of Representatives held its first session of the first legislative term of the fourth legislative year of the fifth electoral cycle under the chairmanship of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, and the session included:

 

- Mr. Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, First Vice- Speaker of the House, chaired part of the session

-Voting on the approval of the extension of the work of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent High Electoral Commission for a period of two years, starting from January 7, 2025 until January 6, 2027, based on the request submitted by the Board of the Commission.

-Voting on the proposed law on the first amendment to the Passports Law No. (32) of 2015 submitted by the Security and Defense Committee after adding it to the agenda of the session.

- Dr. Shakhwan Abdullah, Vice-Chairman, chaired part of the session

-First reading of the proposed law on the second amendment to the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs Law No. (38) of 2013 submitted by the Labor Committee and civil society organizations.

-Second reading of the draft law on the first amendment to the Federal Budget Law of the Republic of Iraq for the fiscal years (2025, 2024, 2023) No. 13 of 2023

-second reading of the proposed law on the organization of trade unions for workers and artisanal employees in Iraq, submitted by the Labor Committee and civil society organizations.
