On (9/5/2024), the House of Representatives held its twenty-fourth session of the first legislative term of the third legislative year of the fifth electoral cycle under the chairmanship of the First Vice-Speaker Mr. Mohsen Al-Mandalawi in the presence of (173) Representatives, and the session included:
-Representative Burhan Al-Mamouri read a statement on the occasion of the anniversary of the martyrdom of the religious authority Mr. Muhammad Muhammad Sadiq Al-Sadr and his two sons, praising in his statement the biography and reference of the martyr Mr. through which he led a reformist revolution in aspects of life and his role as the founder of the culture of freedom and the rejection of tyranny of unjust regimes, so he rejected the hateful sectarianism and defended the rights of the vulnerable, noting that his ideas established a capable generation that rejected occupation and colonialism, stressing the continuation of walking on the principles for which the martyr authority Mr. Muhammad Al-Sadr sacrificed. At the end the House read Surat Al-Fatihah in honor of his pure soul.
-Directing the Acting Speaker of the House to form a parliamentary committee to follow up and investigate the facts of the fire incident in the city of Erbil, based on a request submitted by the deputies of the Governorate of Erbil.
-Voting on the draft law amending the ninth amendment to the Law of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research No. 40 of 1988 submitted by the Higher Education and Scientific Research Committee
-Voting on the draft law of the Iraqi National Security Service submitted by the Security and Defense Committee.
-Mr. Mohsen Al-Mandalawi expressed his thanks for the parliamentary efforts made that contributed to the legislation of the National Security Law.

-The second reading of the draft law on the restitution of real estate to its owners covered by some decisions of the dissolved Revolutionary Command Council submitted by the Legal Committee.
-The first reading of the proposed law on the second amendment to the Independent High Electoral Commission Law No. (31) of 2019 submitted by the Legal Committee in order to maintain the continuity of the work of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent High Electoral Commission until the ratification of the results of the elections of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
