On (16/10/2023), the House of Representatives held its twenty-third session of the second legislative term of the second legislative year of the fifth electoral cycle under the chairmanship of Muhammad Al-Halbousi, and the session included:
-Voting on the draft law of the National Authority for Nuclear, Radiation, Chemical and Biological Regulation submitted by the Health, Environment and Higher Education and Scientific Research Committees.
-First reading of the draft law on the ratification by the Republic of Iraq of the Arab Protocol to Prevent and Combat Trafficking in Human Beings, Especially Women and Children, supplementing the Arab Convention against Transnational Organized Crime, submitted by the Foreign Relations Committee;
-First reading of the draft law on the ratification of the Air Transport Services Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Iraq and the Government of the Syrian Arab Republic, submitted by the Foreign Relations Committee.
-Second reading of the draft law on accession to the Statute for the Development of Women Organization in the OIC Member States submitted by the Foreign Relations Committee.
-The Speaker of the House of Representatives noted that the draft law on accession to the statute for the Development of Women Organization in the OIC member states needs to be voted on in principle to proceed with the procedures for its legislation or return it to the government
-The Speaker of the House stressed the need for the government to abide by the laws in force, including the application of the law regulating the work of advisors, in addition to directing the General Secretariat of the House of Representatives to inform Presidency of the Republic and Presidency of the Council of Ministers of the content of internal regulations of Article 93 to implement it.
After that, it was decided to adjourn the session until tomorrow, Tuesday |
