On (9/9/2023), the House of Representatives held its twelfth session of the second legislative term of the second legislative year of the fifth electoral cycle, headed by Muhammad Al-Halbousi, in the presence of (182) representatives, and the session included:
- Postponing the vote on the draft law on the second amendment to the Personal Liability Insurance Law for Employees of State Departments and the Public Sector No. 47 of 1990, submitted by the Legal and Financial Committees at the request of the two committees.
- Postponing the vote on the draft law to address the period of receipt of applications stipulated in Law No. (13) of 2016, the first amendment to the Law of Returning Documents Bearing the Pseudonyms of Displaced Persons and Migrants No. (79) of 2012 submitted by the legal, regional, and governorates committees that are not organized in the region and human rights.
During the session, the members of the House discussed ways to stabilize the security situation in Kirkuk Governorate and demand the granting of salaries to the employees of the Kurdistan Region
- The Speaker of the House directed the Security and Defense Committee to visit Kirkuk to investigate the facts about the events that took place there and present its report to the Council, in addition to directing the Parliamentary Finance Committee to host the Ministers of Finance in the federal government and the Kurdistan region to find out the merits of oil revenues and financial entitlements of the region.
