 On (1/8/2023), the House of Representatives held its sixth session of the second legislative term of the second legislative year of the fifth electoral cycle under the chairmanship of Mohsen Al-Mandalawi in the presence of (176) representatives, and the session included:

- The First Vice-Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen al-Mandalawi, directed the formation of a joint parliamentary committee consisting of legal, foreign relations, security and defence committees to study the border demarcation file between Iraq and the State of Kuwait and submit its report on the subject
 
- First reading of the draft law on the first amendment to the Law on the Seizure and Confiscation of Movable and Immovable Property belonging to the pillars of the former regime No. (72) of 2017, submitted by the legal, financial, migration, and displacement committees.

Dr. Shakhwan Abdullah, Second Vice-Speaker of the House of Representatives, was sided over from the session

- Second reading of the draft law on the accession of the Republic of Iraq to the Marrakesh Treaty to facilitate access to published works for persons who are blind, visually impaired, or otherwise disabled in reading publications, submitted by the Foreign Relations Committee

- Second Vice-Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Shakhwan Abdullah, directed the Parliamentary Finance Committee to clarify the reasons for the rise in the exchange rate of the dollar against the Iraqi dinar, and the failure to implement the instructions of the federal budget so far.

- Second reading of the draft law on the second amendment to the Personal Liability Insurance Law for Employees of State Departments and the Public Sector No. 47 of 1990, submitted by the Legal and Finance Committees.

- Ladies and gentlemen of the representatives expressed their interventions on the insurance law, including how to include personal responsibility on the employee who fails to perform his work, or to insure the public treasury responsibility for that, with the exception of the employee who deliberately fails to do his work and commits an act that harms the state treasury, or any acts of the employee that result in his conviction of any crime of corruption or illicit gain, as well as the insurance limit according to the seriousness of the work he performs

- Second reading of the draft law on the accession of the Republic of Iraq to the 1997 Protocol amending the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships of 1973, as amended by the Protocol of 1978 relating thereto, submitted by the Foreign Relations Committee.
