On (17/5/2023), the House of Representatives held its twenty-seventh session of the first legislative term of the second legislative year of the fifth electoral cycle, headed by Mohsen Al-Mandalawi in the presence of (175), and the session included:
- Voting on the law in its entirety, which aims to include more broadly workers in the three sectors (private, mixed and cooperative), and every person covered by the labor law who spend their years working without any real guarantee that guarantees a decent life for them and their families, and in confirmation of the principles stipulated in the Constitution, and in response to the developments of the current stage and facing social crises and in line with the call of the International Labor Organization to expand the base of social protection and to include wider segments of Iraqi society with social security for workers.
After that, it was decided to adjourn the session to next Saturday
