 On (31/8/2024), the House of Representatives held its eighth session  of the first legislative term of the third legislative year of the fifth electoral cycle, headed by First Deputy Mr. Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, in the presence of (170) representatives, and the session included:

 

-Mr. Hamid Jassam Al-Zobaie is sworn in in place of the deceased representative Gandhi Abdul Karim.

-representative Faleh al-Khazali read a statement on the tenth anniversary of breaking the siege imposed by the gangs of the terrorist organization on the city of Amerli and its people, pointing out that dozens of martyrs and wounded were presented in defense of the city and to break its siege by the Popular Mobilization Forces and security forces of all kinds.

-Voting on the formation of a parliamentary committee to implement the parliamentary code of conduct, which included the names of a number of ladies and gentlemen representatives, based on articles 82 and 83 of the rules of procedure of the House of Representatives and based on what was voted on in a previous session.

-First reading of the draft law amending the fifth amendment to the Cancer Council Act No. 63 of 1985 submitted by the Health, Environment and Legal Committees.

-First reading of the draft law on the accession of the Republic of Iraq to the amendment to the Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material, submitted by the Foreign Relations Committee;

-Second reading of the draft arbitration law submitted by the Investment, Development, Legal and Financial Committee.

-First reading of the draft law on intellectual protection submitted by the Committee on Culture, Tourism, Antiquities and Media, Legal, Strategic Planning and Federal Service, Higher Education and Scientific Research.
