 On (3/8/2024), the House of Representatives held its fourth session  of the second legislative term of the third legislative year of the fifth electoral cycle under the chairmanship of First Vice-Speaker Mr. Mohsen Al-Mandalawi in the presence of (176) Representatives, and the session included:

 

-President Mohsen al-Mandalawi offered condolences on behalf of the House of Representatives on the death of Representative Gandhi al-Kasnazani, calling on him for mercy and forgiveness and for his family patience and solace.

-Representative Habib Hashem Al-Dulaimi read a statement condemning the assassination of Commander Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran and the assassinations of resistance leaders in Lebanon Fouad Shukr and a group of members of the Popular Mobilization by the Zionist entity, warning against the escalation of aggression and the expansion of the conflict, which will negatively affect the region and affect the global economy, stressing the importance of continuing to remove all foreign forces from Iraq, including the American and Turkish.

-First reading of the draft arbitration law submitted by the legal, investment and development, and finance committees.

A part that was chaired by Dr. Shakhwan Abdullah, Vice -Speaker  of the  House

-Second reading of the draft law on the right to access information submitted by the committees of culture, tourism, antiquities, media, legal, human rights and integrity.

-The interventions of the Ladies and Gentlemen of the Representatives on the right to information law focused on calling for the legislation of the law because of its importance in combating corruption, supporting freedom of expression in a manner that does not contradict the provisions of the Constitution, and including private sector institutions, unions, syndicates and civil society organizations in the law.

-Postponing the second reading of the proposed law on the second amendment to the Political Prisoners Foundation Law No. 4 of 2006 until an answer is received from the government regarding the financial aspect of the law.

Then it was decided to adjourn the session until tomorrow, Sunday.
