Session Details

On  (27/3/2024) the House of Representatives held its seventeenth session of the first legislative term of the third legislative year of the fifth electoral cycle under the chairmanship of the First vice-Speaker Mr. Mohsen Al-Mandalawi in the presence of  (174)  Representatives , and the session included:

 

-Mr. Mohsen Al-Mandalawi instructed the parliamentary committee in charge of following up the problem of floods and torrential rains that hit the governorate of Dohuk to explain its results before the House .

-A number of Representatives from Duhok Governorate read a report on the floods and torrential rains that hit Dohuk Governorate, which led to the death of four people and the injury of others, and the transfer of 1600 people to hotels after their homes were sunk and 1700 houses and 248  vehicle  were damaged, in addition to the damage to 25 government projects and a number of shops and livestock sites, demanding through their recommendation to support citizens affected by the floods by sending the committee's report and recommendations to the Prime Minister to disburse the appropriate compensation to them from the emergency budget.

-Voting on the recommendations of the parliamentary committee on floods and torrential rains in Dohuk governorate.

-Second reading of the draft law on private public university education submitted by the Higher Education and Scientific Research Committee.

-Second reading of the draft law on the ratification of the Air Transport Services Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Iraq and the Government of Russia, submitted by the Foreign Relations Committee.

-Voting on the draft law amending the Iraqi Penal Code No.111 of 1969, submitted by the Legal Committee after adding it to the agenda.

-Second reading of the draft law on the recovery of proceeds of corruption submitted by the Integrity and Legal Committees.

-First reading of the proposed law amending the first law on the graduation of medical and health professionals No. 6 of 2000  submitted by the Health and Environment Committee.
