On  (25/3/2024), the House of Representatives held its sixteenth session of the first legislative term of the third legislative year of the fifth electoral cycle, headed by the First  Vice-Speaker ,  Mr. Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, in the presence of  ( 181)  Representatives , and the session included:

-The House postponed the paragraph to consider the appeals submitted on the validity of the membership of some ladies and gentlemen Representatives due to the lack of a quorum of two-thirds of the members of the House .

-First reading of the draft law on the accession of the Republic of Iraq to the Convention on International Exhibitions signed in Paris in 1928 and supplemented by the Protocols and their amendments of 1982 and 1988, submitted by the Foreign Relations Committee.

-First reading of the draft law on compensation for the property of those affected by the former regime, submitted by the Committee of Martyrs, Victims and Political Prisoners.

-Second reading of the draft law on the accession of the Republic of Iraq to the International Agreement on Olive Oil and edible Oil of 2015, submitted by the Foreign Relations Committee.

-Second reading of the draft law amending the twenty-first to the Staff  Law No. 25 of 1960, submitted by the Legal and Financial Committees.

-Number of ladies and gentlemen Representatives, Demanded  in their interventions during the session, to proceed with the legislation to amend the law as soon as possible to grant the powers to create job titles and academic qualifications to meet the needs of state departments of various competencies and  to serve the benefit of employees concerned with amending the law, as well as a parliamentary demand to legislate a new law for owners in line with the changes taking place in the titles of the new competencies and the number of state employees at the present time.

Then it was decided to adjourn the session to next Wednesday
