On (29/1/2024), the House of Representatives held its third session of the first legislative term of the third legislative year of the fifth electoral cycle under the chairmanship of the First Vice-Speaker Mr. Mohsen Al-Mandalawi in the presence of (171) Representatives, and the session included:

-Start voting on the draft law on legal aid, submitted by the legal and human rights committees.

-During the session, the Parliamentary Transport Committee recite a statement on the systematic targeting of the legislative institution by the executive departments and the media during the exercise of its supervisory role for Iraqi Airways, while the Committee called for taking all legal and accounting measures, in accordance with the powers guaranteed by the Constitution.

-The Acting Speaker of the House, Mr. Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, directs to form a committee to take legal action against anyone who offends the legislative institution and parliamentary committees

-First reading of the draft law amending the Penal Code No. 111 of 1969, submitted by the Legal Committee;

-First reading of the draft law on the ratification by the Republic of Iraq of the Protocol amending articles 50 and 56 of the Convention on International Civil Aviation of 1944, signed in Montreal in 2016, submitted by the Foreign Relations Committee.

-First reading of the draft law on private public university education submitted by the Higher Education and Scientific Research Committee
