 The House of Representatives held its eighth session of the second semester of the third legislative year of the fifth electoral session under the chairmanship of Mr. Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, Acting Speaker of the House on Saturday 31/8/2024, and in the presence of (170) Representative, which included the following session:

-First reading of the draft law amending the fifth amendment to the Cancer Council Act No. 63 of 1985 submitted by the Health, Environment and Legal Committees.

-First reading of the draft law on the accession of the Republic of Iraq to the amendment to the Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material, submitted by the Foreign Relations Committee;

-Second reading of the draft arbitration law submitted by the Investment, Development, Legal and Financial Committee.

-First reading of the draft law on intellectual protection submitted by the Committee on Culture, Tourism, Antiquities and Media, Legal, Strategic Planning and Federal Service, Higher Education and Scientific Research.

-Mr. Hamid Jassam Al-Zobaie is sworn in in place of the deceased MP Gandhi Abdul Karim.
